The most expensive and close to real helicopter is of course the gas powered remote control helicopters, then followed by the electric powered remote control helicopters. However, if you are not sure on your new hobby’s budget, you can choose the mini remote control helicopters (battery powered). After being familiar with the remote control helicopters, then you can have a feeling on how far you would like to continue your new hobby.
The other important aspect to consider is the safety of your new hobby. Especially if you want to involve small children to play with you (i.e. your sons or daughter), then you should consider buying the mini or micro type remote control helicopters. Helicopter’s rotor might become dangerous and cause serious injury. Therefore, please read the instruction manual carefully before playing it for the first time. It is also strongly recommended to fly your new remote control helicopter outdoor for the first time.
